stereotypes of china

gender roles in the orther culture
There are many obvious differences in gender stereotypes in China compared to those in Colombia, the perception of male and female beauty is very different: while in Colombia a woman with curves is considered more attractive, in China a woman with a more delicate body, thin and reserved is considered more beautiful than the other, since it is thought that they are more delicate and young. Although there are gender stereotypes worldwide and one of those is the role that women have in society, a role that has tried to evolve over the years but still maintains its features, and it is the fact that women are «better» playing household activities such as; cooking, caring for children, etc., while a man can play a professional role normally, the woman is rarely seen normal when this happens. the image of women is sexualized, in both countries women are still sexualized .. speaking of how a man is considered attractive, men in China do not tend to be as «masculine» as in Colombia. Another thing that is very Embroiled in the culture of gender in China is how society expects the «eternal youth» of women over the years, in Colombia there is also this stereotype but to a lesser extent. Personally, I believe that there is a stereotype that manifests a lot through social networks by China towards Colombian women and is the fact that we are «daring», that is, or as I have heard in some videos of Chinese «given more», The truth is, I suppose I endorsed this term as if we were more open in a bad way. In the same way, all the aforementioned stereotypes cannot be generalized, they are only things that we all hear in different media, we will never know a hundred percent as is the culture until we know the countries mentioned.

Pop culture
Despite the strained political relationship between Japan and China, Chinese people are happy to consume Japanese products, from food and electronics to Japanese dramas, manga, anime, movies and pop music. Japanese manga characters such as Hello Kitty, Pokemon, Totoro or Doraemon can be found on everything from school bags, towels, mugs, T-Shirts, shoes, greeting cards to underwear and jewellery. Attempts by the government to limit the number of Japanese films and TV shows shown in China have little effect on their popularity, since almost anything can be watched or bought online or as pirated copies/imitations on the street. Some anime and manga series have been banned as well. Chinese fans are also avid cosplayers and many young people are inspired to learn Japanese to understand their favourite manga and anime. The huge market has been discovered by companies like Alibaba and Tencent who invest heavily in online streaming services and setting up domestic art studios. The goal is to develop Chinese animation that one day might be able to compete with the Japanese products. Japanese anime that are popular in China include One Piece, Sailor Moon, Slam Dunk, Doraemon, Dragon Ball, Naruto, Detective Conan and the films by Studio Ghibli such as Spirited Away or My Neighbour Totoro.
K-pop

An idol is a kpop celebrity who has been trained for years to make her debut in the world of music within an entertainment company and who usually performs several functions apart from that of a singer, as an actor or model. They are also a role model in society, especially for younger fans, so they have to constantly take care of their behavior and show their best face to the public. According to The Vancouver Observer, the stereotype of a kpop idol is someone «incredibly young, handsome and capable of a melodramatic role» The training system for kpop idols is one of the toughest in the world, due to the years and effort it requires. Someone who wants to debut in the music world under the seal of a big entertainment company, such as SM Entertainment or YG Entertainment, will have to introduce you to one of the auditions that companies usually organize once a year. Once this audition is over, he will become a «trainee», that is, he will train on company premises for as long as it takes to achieve that «perfection» that is continually sought.
